I think that this book made me really think of how this girl really felt during the whole situation. Like what if I was in her shoes or how she really handled these things step by step since the book does not tell every little detail. When I actually started reading the book to be honest I thought it was going to be a boring book with no real good stuff going on. But until I really got into it I thought that it was a real good and interesting book.
I think that the book itself is all about maybe learning. Like learning about the Holocaust and what really happened. And that sometimes she (Elli) would have to leave stuff behind and have to give up stuff. This book also made me question on alot of things in the end alot of those questions were answered but I also do have. One of my mane questions would be what is the message to this book?? Because I could nto actually fina a message to the book.
Did you find a message? If so what do you think it is?

I agree with you it started out a little slow but then it got way better and it was really interesting.
I think that this book really showed how it was hard to leave stuff behind but others had to leave everything at least Elli kept her poems until the end when she decided it would not be far to get some thing she cared a lot about back when her other family members didn't.
I think that the message is to be thankful for what you have and not obsess over material objects.
Well, I read part of the "Forword" and at the end of it it said that the main focus or moral in this book is to never give up. And throughout the whole entire book, if she gave up once she would have been dead.
