Response:
I think that this book made me really think of how this girl really felt during the whole situation. Like what if I was in her shoes or how she really handled these things step by step since the book does not tell every little detail. When I actually started reading the book to be honest I thought it was going to be a boring book with no real good stuff going on. But until I really got into it I thought that it was a real good and interesting book.
I think that the book itself is all about maybe learning. Like learning about the Holocaust and what really happened. And that sometimes she (Elli) would have to leave stuff behind and have to give up stuff. This book also made me question on alot of things in the end alot of those questions were answered but I also do have. One of my mane questions would be what is the message to this book?? Because I could nto actually fina a message to the book.
Did you find a message? If so what do you think it is?

In this book so far I just I see a lot of mean and sad things going on here. Such as like when the Hunagarian Police would not let the mother keep that picure. I thought that was a really sad part the least they can do is let her keep a picture. I feel bad for all of the people who are going under all of that pressure of how mean those people are to them.
I think that Elli is the best character and obviously the main character of the book. Also I think that her mom trys to stay strong but sometimes she breaks down. I feel bad for Ellie because of her dad. This book makes me just sort of real sad. I see her mother as the second most main character in this book. I cant wait to finish this book and actually find out how this book will actually end off.
Question: Do you think that book will end in a positive note or negative? Explain?

This book makes me wonder about the title. I know that I have only read 40 pages but still I think that I would sort f get why it is called "I have Lived a Thousand Years". Ellie seems like one of those people that are not very confdenceand she just does not think she is pretty or good at much. I thought that she has a lot of feelings because she has cried aout a couple things now and puted about puting her bike in the hall and she just has a lot of emotions. I think that I would be scared if some police people came to my house in the middle of the night and took stuff from my house. I thougth that was very odd but it is part of the book and I just had to think of what they were really doing at their house just taking there stuff. I think that it is wrong that they are being sort of racis against Jews and only making jews do what they have been doing.
My FAVORITE sentance is "Will I ever again sit behind this narrow desk furrowed by a thousand pencil marks? Will I ever again share secrets and moments of hilarity with my classmates?" I loved this senatnce because I liked how she described the desk with a thousand pencil markings and a norrow desk. I love it when books describe and go more in depth on just one small thing. It just describes how she shares her secrets and moments of hilarity with her friends. I thought it was a good desrciptive sentance.
What do you think Ellie's overall personality in the book so far?
