1) I think that she wants to help him because he wanted to go in the war but his language was bad. So maybe that she will help him with his speaking. He helps Yoko by taking her cans and selling them for her and getting money. I think that they do not have friends and want to help eachother.
2)Her plan did not work out because she wouild have gotten home to see her mother before she even died. Instead she was shining shoes to get money. Then Yoko finds out that her plan was not for school. Like Yoko said Ko changed a lot by getting more bossy and trying to be the good person and not get them into any trouble.
3) Do you think Hideyo will ever make it to see his sisters?
My answer: I think that at one time he will eventually get to them. I thiink that I believe in Hideyo to reach his sisters.

1. I agree with you that they want to help each other out as much as possible, and support each other.
2. I agee with you that Ko probaly should have been there when her mother died instead of shining shoes. I still think it was good of Ko to try and make money for them to live off of.
3. I think Hideyo will make it to his sisters eventually, just not untill the end of the book.
