Blog Post #1

1: I think that Yoko's character of kind of scared little girl, I would definatly be scared if I was a young girl going all over the place during a war. Such as the part when they were in the train and they had to look really sick in front of the guys. It said "I did not move a flinch" or something like that, if that were me I would be so scared but from what it sounded like it did not seem that she was scared. Even though that I think she might be a scared little girl I think that she is also brave for doing all the different things, such as shaving her head and not eating for like 2 days. I dont think that I myself could ever realate to her because she is very brave to me and im not as brave as her.

2: Well I think that they dont seem like everyday sisters because Yoko calls her honorable sister and usually sisters DO NOT call themselves that. Although I am not sure about that because maybe in a different country they do that. In the beggining thay seemed very nice to eachother but right now in the book it seems that she is kind of mean and bossy. But I thought that when Ko carried Yoko on her back that, that was pretty nice of her because she probably new she was tired. Over all of there performance of sisters I think that they are just regular sisters being mean to eachother and also being nice to eachother.

3: I think that they reacted pretty calm, because what it seems like in the book they dont react really that dramatic to all that is going on. What Ko was doing was talking to the patients and making them feel comfortable instead of freaking out and drinking pee or jumping out of a train. What Yok0 did was shared a little food with all of the people around her and share her blankets since many of the people did not have that on hand. The mother was helping some woman with there baby's, such as when that one baby died she was supporting the mother even though she jumped out ofthe train. I thought that many of them did a little bit for others on the train and I thought that it was pretty nice for them to do that.

Response: This is the second book of the Shadow Children sequence that I am reading as you know it is called Among The Imposters. This book caught up right where the last book started off from it starts out with him going into an all boys school no girls. The twist is that Jen's (Lukes friend) dad takes him to the school but in this onepart he says "my dad does not sign paper's". So I was thinking that maybe he does not do that because he is nervous that Luke is a shadow child and h as a secret identity.

Lukes secret identity now is "Lee Grant" because he does not want the government to fine him and take him away. I actually had a favorite sentance in the book it was "Luke slid his hand into his pocket, his fingertips touching the top of the note". I liked how they were so descriptive on that one sentance and how they said "his fingertips touching the top of the note". I could picture him reaching in his pocket and his fingertips just touching the note and grabbing. I just thought that was a really unique sentance just to tell me what he was doing.

This book gets more more and more intersting by the minute I have no idea why I did not finish it. The main character Luke (shadow child) found nother kid that is a shadow child I was so surprised when they met because I thought that she really wasn't but when they got to know each other more he found out more about her. The suspense is killing me (just kidding). Mainly what this book is about is this one boy named Luke is a shadow child and he meets this girl one day and find out more and more about each other. Most of the time they have to sneak out of there house just to see each other.

Again I really don' think that I could ever realte to any of the kids in this book because I do not have to hide although Luke's brothers I can realte to because they do not have to hide. I am going to be starting the next book just to tell you I am so excited to see what happens in this book.

Response: Q: What does this boook remind you wonder about? Why?
This book has a lot of questions behind it like will he ever go outside of his house and why could you only have two children and not three. The thing is that he has to hide inside his house because he was the third child born and so he has to hide because it is illegal. I thought when I first hurd it, that why do they have to do that because right now you can have 3 and back then they only were aloud to have 2. I am not really saying that it is messed up, I am just saying why did it change or maybe it was just a made up thing in the book but if it wasn't i still thought it is wrong.

I dont think i could ever relate to the pages of the book i read because I have never had to hide from the outside. If I was luke (main character) I would try and get out there and breath in the air and enjoy the time that I get outside. Because in this one part of the book (the beggining) it says that he took his last breath of fresh air and went inside. So that just told me that wow he must not ever be able to go inside because it said "last breath of fresh air". That sentance just told me his whole life pretty much that he never got to go outside and he had to hide inside his ouse from the outside and can't even go by window's. I can't wait to continue my book and see what happens.
